Don't you just HATE it when your friend leaves the country and takes the Settlers game with her?!

I used to refuse to play that game, but now it has become part of OM life here... Yes, we are wildly social and fun! :-) Go OM!

Who I am...

Last year I was here:

In the last 12 months, there have been a lot of changes in my life. One year ago I lived in Scotland, worked in community development, and was learning the many different sides of being a "foreign missionary." Now I'm living back in the States, I'm working in youth ministry/missions again, and I'm still adjusting to a new culture: the South.

I was thinking about these things just now, after a good morning prayer time with some of my OM friends. God is doing so many things and working in so many ways... And He is BLESSING. He is blessing me, my friends, my family, and people all around the world with His love & care, His challenges, and His presence.

When's the last time you Counted Your Blessings? So my life has changed - do I just reflect, or do I praise Him for it? Trials come - do I run to my corner, or do I take His strength and stand? Stand! Rejoice! Philippians 4:4 - "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" Paul didn't say, "Hey guys, you should celebrate and praise God sometimes. You know, if you feel like it." No, Paul says strongly "Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS!" He says it twice!

Here's the chorus of a song I love... It reminds me who I am, who He is, and gives me a clearer, more refreshed perspective:

Not because of who I am, but because of what You've done...
Not because of what I've done, but because of who You are...

I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean, a vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am:
I am Yours.

... I am His.

Ever seen Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends?

Well, we're watching it now... Ryan, who just moved here from New York City, has it in his extensive & awesome DVD collection. So Ryan's educating us on the finer points of cartoonage. Anyway, it's a cartoon about this home for people's discarded imaginary friends. Who came up with that? There's this wee guy called "Bloo" who, as you might've guessed, is blue. And then there's Co-Co, who can only say "co-co" but she says that repeatedly and somehow the other imaginary friends understand.

Did I mention that Bloo is a cheapskate?

So there's your random information for the week... I guess this is what happens when you turn 24 - you spend your Friday nights watching re-runs of the Cartoon Network. Welcome to adulthood, kids.

In other news: tomorrow I'm off to Lake Oconee (however you spell it) with Jill for some fun in the sun! We're going to hang out with some people who are friends of Jill's family, and this area where the lake is is supposed to be really snazzy... So we'll see! I'm taking my camera, so hopefully I'll have lots of photos of jet skiing, boats, and other fun stuff to post later!

It's getting late - oh yeah, did I mentioned that when you turn 24 you also have to go to bed earlier? Or maybe that's Mono... Well, bye for now!

Recently I re-loaded Lenny Kravitz's "American Woman" song onto my iPod, and it inspired me to post this photo that we took a few weeks ago...

The moral of this story? Don't mess with a woman when she's in the kitchen.

Ringtone!!!

I did it! For the first time ever, I downloaded a ringtone! It is the theme to "Batman", old-school style. Yay! Now (if they ever fix the Cingular tower in our area that was recently vandalized) when you call me, I will hear the Batman song and proceed to dance before answering the phone.

BATMAN! I like him. :-)

It's been nearly a week since I decided to re-ignite my blog... So I thought it'd be a good idea to post something. It might not be much, but it's a start.

I have to give a shout-out to a fellow Indiana homie who'll go unmentioned (eh-hem, Alex), who noticed this week that people can't comment on my blog. Shoot! The comments used to work. Now, thanks to Heidi's blogging genius they've been fixed, so you can comment all you want. Go for it!

I'm sitting at AnnaBuck's watching Le Divorce so I'm going to finish this post now. Bye for now, kids!
