Hey! So I tried the whole audblog thing, it was weird and I didn't know what to say but hey, it was free! :-) If you just click on the thing below, you can hear what I came up with:

Well, everyone was taking this quiz and putting who they were on their blogs, so I gave into the peer pressure and here's how it turned out:
legolas
You are Legolas!
Detached from the real world, you prefer to be
alone and tackle life your way.

--What Lord of the Rings character are you?--
brought to you by Quizilla

Legolas... I really can't complain about that. Lookin' good!
I just realized that my blog is getting boring - I think that's because of a serious lack of time to post things, and by the time I can actually post stuff, I forget most of the things that have been going on that I want to write about! Oh well... The holidays are coming up, and those are always great. For Thanksgiving my family goes to my aunt & uncle's house which is very near to ours, and then I will be working for the rest of that weekend. After that it's just two more weeks until Christmas break... This year, Christmas with the whole family is at our house! The day after Christmas we are going to Florida for a little fun in the sun, score! That's a good note to end on, so I'm off now!

Hey kiddies, just posting to say a quick hi. I'm writing from an "undisclosed location" to be announced at a later date. :-) Anyway, we're drawing near to Thanksgiving which is wonderful, because that means two days off of school and going home. Breaks are always welcome.

This past week was good enough I guess, I had most of my classes cancelled, as my profs were all at a Theological Seminar-type thing. So I took the opportunity to go around the city taking photos, and also just sleeping a lot. The week was pretty uneventful, except for a little incident on Thursday. I know this is the most vague post I've ever had but I suppose that's alright for now. I'd better head out anyway, more later!

Time. Where does it go? The weekend flew by. My Mom, my cousin Andrea, my Aunt Cindy, and our friend Michele were all here for a ladies weekend of shopping, eating out, and hotel fun. A college student's dream.... It was good fun, we went all around Chicago for a few days, and I picked up a few things along the way, such as a new winter hat and an earring for the piercing I had done this summer. That makes me think, I wish you all could see what I talk about on here from time to time. Does anyone know how to post photos that are already on the internet somewhere? I would appreciate someone filling me in! Anyway, one of the highlights of the weekend was today, when Mom and I took the "L" down to a Tattoo & Piercing place on Belmont, not for me but so that SHE could get her cartilage pierced! Go, Mom. Yeah, she's a cool one. It was funny going in there with her, cause we were dressed um... well it's just say we were the only two dressed as we were. Pretty much our clothes weren't vintage/goth/scandalous like everyone else's but I'm sure no one cared too much. They usually don't down there. So we went into this place and my Mom got a hole put in her ear by a guy named Alex whose arms were fully tattooed and who had random piercings - my favorite was a little ring under his nose, kind of like a bull. So that was fun. She said every time she looked at mine she wanted to have it done, so today we finally got into gear and had that done. What a spectacular day.

It's looking like I'm going to live in an apartment off campus next semester. Holla!!! Assuming all the paperwork goes through, that is. So that should be great. In other news: tonight I went to youth group at a friend's church, and I think I am going to start helping out as a youth leader there! It was great, I really liked the kids there, the other leaders are ace and I think I would fit in well with the situation. That's something I'll be praying about in the next few weeks...

That is all for now - the semester is really winding down and time is running out to get things done so I've got to get cracking now! bye for now, friends.

Today I want to share with you all a song from the Shrek soundtrack that I really like. Really, really.
This is beautiful...

You Belong To Me

See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sun rise from the tropic isle
Just remember, darling, all the while
You belong to me

See the marketplace in old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
You belong to me

And I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too

Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it’s wet with rain
Just remember till you're home again
You belong to me

And I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too

Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it’s wet with rain
Just remember till you're home again
You belong to me

It would be really great if you could listen to this somehow, maybe later I will try to find a link or something. It's such a sweet song.
Bye to all you kiddies for now, I'm off to look at an apartment.

Tonight was one of those great nights I'll remember for a long long time... We had our soccer banquet this evening, which began at Solheim with Coach recognizing a few people who have helped out the team in different ways. Kate and I were given flowers, and we watched Coach get teary-eyed as he thanked us, which really touched my heart. Awwww. After that, we all ventured to Carson's (a very nice place, famous for their ribs), where everyone ate happily and enjoyed being with one another. I had the filet mignon, which was excellent; really, for me the best part of dinner was when I took a moment to look around and saw all the guys just eating, talking, and looking so pleased. When they're happy, it makes me happy too. :-)
Following the meal, we went back to school and met together for the awards part of the evening - this usually involves some fun, good humor, applause, and a fair amount of emotion as well. Many awards were passed out, and this being my second year with the team, I got a very nice blue athletic bag and a certificate. Then, later on, Kate and I were surprised with plaques from Coach and the team; I am looking at mine right now and I think it's just wonderful. After some of the crazier awards for the guys (like the Mad Bomber and Grease Monkey awards), the captains came up with gifts for Coach, Kate, and I. Now, the guys are just brilliant in their thinking because what did they give to me and Kate? Certificates for massages at a spa! WOW. They are the greatest! We also received a rose and a card signed by all the guys, which I have read twice already and I know I will cherish it for years to come.

The banquet was over too soon, and afterward I went with Kate to her apartment to watch a movie. We hadn't been there for long when Ben called us, wondering could he and Jeff come over? (Like this has never happened before!) They promised to make us cookies (there's a first time for everything!) so of course we said yes (cookies or not) and they came over shortly after. The hilarity that ensued over the next few hours was the best entertainment I've had in ages, I kid you not! Kate and I were not allowed to help make the cookies so we sat across the counter and watched while the guys went to work. I can't even begin to describe it, I'll just say that by the time they were done I was on the floor laughing till I cried, trying to remember to stop laughing often enough to breathe... Yes, it was quite a show, involving singing, dancing, original comedy and surprisingly great cookies (which contained the normal ingredients plus chocolate chips, Crispy M&M's, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Blue Icing that read "Strictly Jesus"). Following our cookie feast, we watched most of Lord of the Rings and then went home. Whew, what a night.

I came home and just praised God for blessing me with this team of amazing guys, a Coach whom I deeply admire and respect, and a fellow manager named Kate who is an incredible friend, servant, and sister to me. It has been my honor and pleasure to serve God in this way, and it is a bit hard to see this part of my life drawing to a close. Oh don't worry, it's not over yet, we still have England in March! But even after that, I will leave the team a more humble, Godly woman because of the way the Lord has chosen to bless and shape me through this opportunity to serve and bring Him glory. I love these guys to pieces, and there will always be a special place in my heart for the Men's Soccer Team of Moody Bible Institute, which is not just a soccer team but a group of men who pursue and serve God with a passion unlike any I have seen before. And for that I praise the Lord.

I am a typing MACHINE!! All day today I did some typing work for a friend, which is great because a little extra money is always nice, and I only have a few pages left to write for my huge paper, yay! I wrote about 9 pages yesterday at a friend's apartment, that was a beautiful thing. Last night I went out to Harvest for church with Ben, and we got lost on the way (he blames me, of course) so we ended up getting there half an hour late but just in time for the sermon, so it was all good. After we got back we went to J's (yeah I am ashamed that I went to that grease pit but oh well you only live once) and I haven't eaten today as a result. I'm about to go to Kate's apartment even though she's not there and just sit and relax - I do believe I deserve a little relaxing after this week. So you kids all have a good night. I know I'm about to.
